how much does tantalum cost per 1 gram
Tantalum (Ta) Ingot
Tantalum has a high melting point and strength, good ductility, is corrosion-resistant and is highly conductive of electricity and heat. $5.95 per 1 gram
Tantalum metal ingot
These properties make it useful in the production of capacitors and other electronic components and its superalloys are used in the aerospace, nuclear, and medical industries.
Approximately 60% of worldwide tantalum production comes from South America and Australia.
Worldwide production in 2012 was only 765 tonnes of tantalum, compared with 2700 tonnes of gold.
Please see the below links for more information.
Inscribed on our ingots are the chemical symbol (Ta), purity (99.95%), weight (one troy ounce), and a serial number (this number is unique and will vary).
On the reverse is our logo.
These ingots are lightly polished though most are not as well polished as the single one pictured.
See the group pictures for representative ingots from this batch.
As we suggest with all of our metals please keep in a safe place, do not ingest, and keep out of the reach of children.

Tantalum: Spot prices continue to fall in 2019
Tantalum concentrate spot prices rose sharply in the first half of 2018, passing the US$100/lb Ta2O5 level in mid-year.
They then started to fall and were at about US$80/lb by the end of November.
Prices have continued to fall through the new year and are currently believed to be considerably lower.
Published spot prices for tantalum concentrate are unlikely to show much movement over the short term.
The Chinese New Year is approaching and is a time when market activity in tantalum largely grinds to a halt.
There are reports that some small deals are being struck in Central Africa for as little as US$50-55/lb.
Such deals are probably being made to raise cash quickly and that price level is borderline even for artisanal miners.
Their situation is not being helped by the influx of low-cost by-product tantalum from lithium mining.
Less still, is it helped by the imposition by the DRC government of a 10% export royalty, which comes on top of the estimated US$5/lb levy miners must pay to be considered conflict-free compliant under certain certification programs, and that is after the initial cost of being assessed, which can reportedly amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars?
It does not seem likely that there will be a market-related increase in tantalum concentrate prices in the near future.
What is possible, however, is that the dubious result of the presidential election in the DRC could trigger unrest/conflict or general uncertainty, which could easily result in a spike in market prices.
The tantalum industry has seen significant change since the end of the financial crisis and prices...
